We are currently seeking a Class A CDL Driver to join our growing team! 

Position Overview:

This is not a straight driving/equipment operating position; 75% of work performed is in relation to crew support and can be very labor intensive. Work involves such tasks as dragging, connecting, disconnecting, and draining hoses; shoveling, loading and unloading trailers with drums and more.  Vehicles operated are those with GVWR of 26,000# or more such as tractor trailer combinations, tankers, vacuum trucks, Vactor trucks, box vans, 2 ton flatbeds.  Heavy equipment operated include excavators and loaders of all types and sizes.  The work schedule for this position varies depending on project requirements.  Travel is required, with most trips being 1-2 days however; travel to remote sites for 3 or more weeks is possible. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow policies and procedures – in a safe manner at all times
  • Strict adherence to CFR 49 and CFR 40 EPA guidelines are mandatory
  • Pre and Post Trip inspections per CFR 49.396 – performed daily
  • Log Books and timesheets per CFR 49.395 – performed daily
  • Cargo Securement –CFR 49.393 Subpart I
  • Handle varying lengths of hoses 2,3, and 4 inches in diameter with or without product.
  • Monitor, connect, disconnect, operate controls, intake and discharge valves on vacuum units.
  • Maintain daily inventory of hoses, tools, fittings and hose connections on the unit.
  • Read, understand and correct if necessary hazardous and Non Hazardous Waste Manifest, Bill of Lading and other shipping papers.
  • Clean truck of trash and sweep out at the end of each shift.
  • Responsed to calls after hours, weekends and holidays as required for emergency response services.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems, perform basic repairs and maintenance such as oil and filter changes, replacing headlights, etc.
  • Operate any size and type of excavator and loaders.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience driving and operating tractor and trailer combinations, vacuum trucks and tankers, and box vans.
  • Two years of experience operating excavators and loaders is preferred.
  • Experience leading small crews on projects is preferred.
  • 40 hr. HAZWOPER and Confined Space Entry certifications is preferred
  • Forklift Operation
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required.
  • Ability to understand and follow multi-step written or oral instruction
  • Good Math Skills
  • Able to read, write legibly, speak and understand the English language.
  • Demonstrate a consistent and reliable work ethic by adhering to work schedules and utilizing time efficiently in order complete assigned tasks within defined deadlines.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with a self-starter such as finding work to do between direct assignments, follow through with tasks, and take ownership and pride in work performed.
  • Demonstrate an ability to effectively cooperate and communicate with co-workers and personnel in other departments.

Successful completion of a pre-employment background and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verification, criminal search and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well continued verification throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards.
