We are currently seeking a Project Accountant to join our growing team! 

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide a high level of support to the Alaska Business Manager and Kenai Area Manager by performing a variety of project accounting duties while consistently demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, dependability, accuracy, professionalism and excellent customer service relations with both internal and external clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate billing of jobs with coordination and approval by project managers.
  • Prepare special project analyses for project managers, sales staff or executive management team.
  • Facilitate project update meetings to ensure billing cycles are complete and accurate.
  • Perform monthly, random internal job audits to include profit margin, variation in cost estimate and amount billed, expense not billed to customer and reason, and time from completion of job to final billing.
  • Reviews and reconciles job cost reports and related accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Bi-weekly and monthly closing processes and revenue reporting.
  • Process credit applications using due diligence to ensure applicant is credit worthy.
  • New customer account setup in the system.
  • Process statewide sales tax filings.
  • Collection of past due accounts, and coordination of collections with corporate credit department.
  • General problem solving relating to customer activity including account reconciliation, customer complaints and disputes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • 2+ year experience in environmental or construction related accounting environment
  • Advanced computer literacy with experience in Microsoft 2016 Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with emphasis on accuracy, communication and organizational skills and meeting of required deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic including honesty, thoroughness and dependability.

Successful completion of a pre-employment background and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well continued verifications throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards.
